ORANGE OLEANDER (Thevetia peruviana )

Origin: This South American native has orange trumpet-shaped flowers and smells like pepper. The seeds and fruit are highly poisonous.

Traditional herbal uses: The bark and stem are used to reduce fever.

-Listless state, i.e., no “get up and go”

This peppery smelling, orange coloured sister of Yellow Oleander, reminds me of a miniature willow tree with flowers. While the smell of this essence didn’t make me hungry, it did prompt me to pick up some of the sweet pepper-shaped fruit for the seeds. One day I’ll have a garden again, and this lovely tree, along with her yellow sister, will certainly be in it…
